Bridging East Africa's rich livestock heritage with the demanding standards of the global market.
Philip's Table Commodities LTD is an established, dual-stream livestock authority based in Nairobi, Kenya. We bridge East Africa's rich livestock heritage with the demanding standards of the global market. With dual presence in Nairobi and London, we combine local expertise with international trading standards.
We leverage decades of on-the-ground expertise in East Africa's livestock economy to manage the entire physical supply chain. Our function is to ensure that every commodity sourced—from the initial procurement agreement with local farmers to the final loading of the export container—meets the stringent operational, quality, and compliance mandates of global standards.
Our specialization in premium East African goat breeds—particularly the iconic Galla and resilient Ukambani varieties—is supported by an operational structure designed for total compliance and verifiable integrity. We ensure the physical asset meets the precise requirements of our global markets. We manage local procurement, Halal processing, and export logistics within the strict compliance framework of the Kenyan Companies Act 2015 and the Directorate of Veterinary Services (DVS).
Learn Our Story
Two distinct but complementary business streams serving the African livestock market
We are the principal in every physical export transaction. Philip's Table Commodities purchases livestock directly from farmers, manages all processing and certification, and sells finished commodities to international buyers. This is traditional commodity trading: we take title, we bear the market risk, and we deliver to specification.
Our business model is transparent and straightforward: we operate on commercial margins earned from the difference between our procurement costs and our export sales prices. Every export transaction is governed by formal purchase contracts with buyers, ensuring clarity of terms and commercial accountability.
Our digital platform operates differently. Here, farmers remain the legal owners of their livestock. We provide the infrastructure, verification protocols, and marketplace that allows farmers to tokenize their livestock holdings. These blockchain-based Digital ID Tokens represent verified title to specific animals.
Philip's Table Commodities does not take ownership of the underlying livestock in this stream. Instead, we serve as the trusted custodian and operator of the digital marketplace where these tokens can be traded. Our revenue comes from transaction fees and platform services—not from commodity price spreads.
Every step of our process is designed for transparency, quality, and regulatory compliance
We procure livestock through contractual agreements with verified farmers in Kenya's major livestock-producing regions—Garissa (Galla goats), Kitui (Ukambani), Mandera, and Wajir. Each animal is sourced through traceable procurement channels, and farmers receive transparent, market-linked pricing on every transaction.
Before any export transaction, all livestock undergo mandatory inspection and certification by the Directorate of Veterinary Services (DVS). We work exclusively with government-registered veterinary officers and DVS-certified facilities to ensure full compliance with Kenyan export regulations. This includes health screening, disease control, and issuance of official export health certificates.
All processing is performed at Halal-certified slaughterhouses registered with the Kenya Meat Commission (KMC) and inspected by DVS. We manage the entire logistics chain—from holding facilities to refrigerated export containers—ensuring cold chain integrity and adherence to international food safety standards.
For digital token transactions, physical custody of the livestock is maintained at registered farms, with verification conducted through our blockchain-integrated traceability system and periodic physical audits by DVS-certified inspectors.
